Level Design
The level design for our game changed drastically, I initially did not know where this was going, but all I knew was that it was not going to look anything like our prototype. With the help of the suggestions of our play testers we were able to find a solution to our inviable wall problems. Our original idea was to have players be in an open world like area, but our levels would take place in a small area. The only problem was that the invisible walls we set up were not as obvious to our play testers as it was to us. We set up the large grass around the level but they play testers almost always tried to get through the gaps in the grass. So, we completely went in a different direction and instead, enclosed the players in a giant hole. It was highly effective. It over all was a major upgrade from out last try and players are no longer confused
I messed with the lighting a lot as well, I added fog and changed the undertones to escaped from the default lighting hell. I was going for a warm look, but unfortunately the change in the colour temperature was the only thing that doesn’t seem to show on the build. So, it unfortunately looks a lot colder than it should. No matter what I did it only showed up in the unity editor and not the build, its unfortunate but that’s game design I guess.
